Why do our clients work with us?

Our clients are very capable and intelligent people, but there are very good reasons why they appoint us to assist them. When we ask, they tell us that the three most common reasons are:

• They believe that we care about their goals and dreams and will look after their interests like we would look after our own
• They do not have the time, knowledge or confidence to manage their own financial affairs
• They are realistic and savvy enough to know that some investment offers are ‘too good to be true’, and understand and respect our approach to investments.

Our clients fall into three categories:

• Professionals - usually solicitors and accountants, senior staff, directors and partners in large global firms
• Business owners - individuals who are able to integrate their business and personal objectives
• Sudden Wealth individuals - people who have come into large amounts of capital. This could be through lottery wins, inheritance, divorce or as simple as retiring with a very large pension fund that has suddenly become their responsibility

Smart Financial Planning is very selective about the clients that it works with. We are clear about the who we are best able to help and limit our clients to those only. That said, we do not accept all clients who we appear to be able to help.  We invest enormous amounts of time and effort to allow us to understand our clients as fully as possible, and work exceptionally hard to help our clients achieve everything that they wish. We are simply not prepared to make this effort for people who are not prepared to put the same level of commitment into their own success.

We only work with a small number of clients and this allows us to give a very personal service. All clients are advised in the same way. Steve Martin is always the person who conducts meetings with clients, with a lot of the preparatory work done by our highly skilled team. We do not believe in providing two tier services, so we either accept clients and give them our very best or we do not accept them at all.

As a result of this our clients value our input and recognise our expertise and the results we can achieve.
