"In 2005 I asked Steven and his team to review our employee benefit arrangements as I felt that neither the company nor the employees were getting value for money. The take up of our pension scheme was small and employees cited lack of unbiased / independent advice as being the biggest reason.

Having reviewed our arrangements Steven recommended that there were more modern, IT based, lower cost with wider investment options, pension schemes available and that, in his opinion, we should switch to one of them. As we had agreed a fee structure with Steven’s previous company, we were confident that we were receiving advice which was unrelated to their income streams and adopted the recommendations.

This exercise was completed in 2005 and since then almost all staff have joined the pension scheme and meet with Steven on a face to face basis at least six monthly. When in 2005 Steven became a partner in Christian Douglass Financial Planning we engaged him and his new team to continue to provide advice and services to us.

In 2006, we introduced a SIPP arrangement for the senior staff and staff with larger funds. This has allowed our top people to become individual clients of Christian Douglass and receive the full financial planning and wealth management services that they can provide. Most benefit has been received from the cash flow analysis work which has helped staff understand their future income positions and the recommendations that have made where this has not met with their expectations."
