Next in our Breakfast Briefing series is our Pre Budget 2009 Briefing. This year's Pre Budget has a double edge to it, usually November is the time when the worst news is trailed and then in the main Budget it is altered, removed or, in last year's Income Tax case, increased. This year's Pre Budget, however, will be only 6 months from an election. Will the Chancellor play politics or economics? Your guess is as good as ours but we will report on whatever is announced on November 26th.

The Charity Golf Day
Our sincerest thanks to all who joined us on our inaugural golf day. Seven teams competed for the trophy and the worthy winners were the Spirit group, led by Pat Ryan. Sprit specialise in providing commercial property funds and will be working with Smart in the future to help us provide their solutions to our clients. As has been covered extensively, the idea of the event was to raise some money for charity, we are delighted to announce that we raised just short of £1000 and that Smart will top it up to a round £1000.

This will take Smart Financial Planning’s total fund raising to just over £1500 and less than £1000 short of our £2,500 target for the year.
The plan to raise the additional £1000 was simple, Steve to run more! Unfortunately, as he cannot run to the end of the road at the moment (had a scan on Sunday, meeting with the consultant next week) we will wait until later in the year but thanks again to all those that have made a charitable donation and feel free to contribute even though we are not doing anything!
Next Year’s event will be on Friday 18th June and all involved with the Smart team are hoping that they won’t be last again!
